The simple way to disperse unwanted surface water

Soakaways are a simple way of dispersing unwanted surface water and can help to alleviate blockages and water logging in gardens by re-distributing excess water.

A soakaway comprises of a porous pipe. It is inserted into the ground by digging down to the required depth. Gravel and finally soil are then laid down on top of the pipe, allowing the surplus water to filter down through the gravel to the pipe where it is evenly dispersed.

Over time, soakaways can sometimes become clogged with every day soil and waste, which can result in a blockage.
